Maharashtra: Chauffeur of 17 years steals Rs 1 crore, flees in his employer’s car

A chauffeur who had been working for a developer for 17 years was arrested after fleeing with Rs 1.06 crore belonging to his employer. The accused had discarded his mobile phone and changed vehicles in locations without surveillance cameras. The majority of the stolen cash has been recovered. The theft was reported on October 11, when the developer had left Rs 25 lakh in the car and asked the chauffeur to stay with it. However, when the developer returned, the chauffeur had disappeared with the cash and the car.
