Anglophone solidarity comes up against 'strategic' ties with India in Canada spat

The Biden administration has expressed solidarity with Canada in its accusation of India's involvement in the assassination of a Sikh militant on Canadian soil. US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stated that the US takes the allegation seriously and will stand up for its principles. The Five Eyes intelligence alliance, consisting of the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, has reportedly provided some of the intelligence. The Anglophone alliance's response has raised concerns in India about diplomatic implications and spying allegations.
